Located two hours north of Manhattan, Hudson was a bustling major river port in the 19th century. The city of Hudson eventually became the third official port of entry to the United States. Hudson prospered for a century until the economy and the city began to decline and continued to do so throughout most of the 20th century. In the late 1980’s a resurgence occurred and interest in Hudson as a destination for fine antiques began to escalate. Today Hudson is known for food, art, culture, shopping, hiking, and, of course, antiques.
