All of our rooms include a Beautyrest Black ultra plush pillowtop mattress, flat screen smart TV with DirecTV and NFL Sunday Ticket, Blu-ray player with streaming capabilities, vinyl Record Players (welcome to 1979) and Bluetooth speakers, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a community snack bar located on the second floor stocked with complimentary gourmet snacks and drinks. Below are some of our favorite amenities we’ve curated to give you an intimate and comfortable experience.
Our bedding is made of cotton and French Flax linen. Linen is our favorite choice for bedding as it is both breathable and soft, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Duvets and pillows are down and hypo-allergenic down alternative. Velvety cotton flannel sheets in the fall and winter; breathable linen sheets in the warmer months.
We approached Hudson-based 2 Note, known for their hand-crafted small batch apothecary products, to create shea butter and olive oil-based toiletries that leave your hair and skin soft, smooth, and smelling great. Each room is stocked with 2Note shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap, scented with Moroccan rose, grapefruit & vetiver.
Breakfast is created from scratch daily using local, seasonal ingredients whenever possible. A typical Batterby House breakfast might include a warm dish such as quiche, pancakes & french toast, or an egg and bacon hash; accompanied by fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, baked goods and pastries. We like to get creative in the kitchen, so don't be surprised to see things like mac & cheese pancakes or savory tomato bread pudding pop up on the menu. Every breakfast will include vegetarian options; we are happy to accommodate dietary requests and have many dishes that can be made vegetarian, vegan, gluten/dairy/egg-free. I know this seems like a given rather than an amenity, but hear us out...
Each room at Batterby House has been updated with remote-controlled, whisper-quiet ductless AC units. No more loud window units, no central air that requires sharing a thermostat with the rest of the house. You're in complete control of your room's temperature (well, whoever has the remote is the one in control, so be sure to grab it before your travel companion does!)
Community Mini-Bar & library
On the first and second floors we have a book, record, game and movie library available to all our guests. The dining room is also available should you need a bigger space to gather a group and spread out for a high-stakes game of Scrabble.
On the second floor landing we have curated a delectable collection of drinks, snacks and local food offerings. These items are complimentary. Every room at Batterby House is equipped with a flat screen tv and Blue-ray player with streaming capabilities, so grab a movie from the library and a snack from the mini-bar, or fire up that Netflix account, and settle in for a relaxing evening.
We love vinyl; the ritual, the sound, the lost art of album artwork. Each room at Batterby House has it's own mini-collection of 20-30 albums and a record player. Our living room also has it's own vinyl library. Borrow albums from the living room or swap with fellow guests at the breakfast table to build a collection of your personal favorites during your stay!
